Voices United For Veterans

Unfortunately, homelessness for our U.S. Veterans of all wars is at a crises level right now. A group of former veterans have created a non-profit organization called Voices United for Veterans that provides three important ideas. First, it eloquently and precisely describes the terrible financial situation that too many of our veterans find themselves in today. Secondly, the website provides a place where similar out-reach groups can advertise upcoming events to help raise money that goes directly to programs designed to help our veterans who may need help. And third, it's a place to donate the non-profit organization Voices United for Veterans. I am proud to be involved in this organization as well. I've donated two of my songs off of my current CD "Child Indigo"; "Too Young To Sing The Blues" and "You Go On" as digital downloads for the organization to give to donors at the time of their donations to the program.
Their website is http://voicesunitedforvets.org and I urge all who are reading this to strongly consider helping by giving what you can to this exceptional cause.

Thanks & Peace - Danny Django

Acoustic Rainbow Volume #39

It's a great honor to be selected as one of the 18 artists on this compilation CD that features the great Steve Earle and a selection from his new CD "I'll Never Get Out Of This World Alive". The title of his CD is taken from one of Hank Williams songs that was released right when he died. The track Steve Earle has on the compilation is "Every Part Of Me", which is an excellent love song to his wife. The other artists on this CD are all incredible as well, it's really quite a blend of roots music. It was release by Poetman Records in Lexington Kentucky to over 1,300 radio stations all over the world. My song "A survivor" is the last track, #18. It's a song for anyone out there surviving anything; in my case the inspiration is surviving cancer now for seven years.

It's the night before the big gig. The band had it's last practice tonight. I think we're ready. I think we intentionally had a bad rehearsal because we're all superstitious. Need I say more on the subject. We got a little blurb on us in the Main section of the Gazette (the local Newspaper) about the show. We've got some surprises and we're looking forward to the show and having some fun.

Kind of a weird tourney this year. Understated by underdog Cinderella teams in the Final Four. It's a sign of the times. The vast majority of the people out in America feel like they've lost their country to a system of unbound greed, no matter what side of things they're on they're fed up. I believe when things occur like the impossible run of at least a couple of these teams it gives people hope. Like anything can happen, we can pull together despite perceived differences to get our country back on track. Winning by overcoming a backlog of avarice injustice.

Cheers - Danny

New CD

We're releasing a new CD titled "Child Indigo" In April. This one was done a little differently than in the past. Still recorded in the basement, but instead of playing all the instruments myself I worked with the gifted Sophia Tucker who played all Keyboards on the project and the highly versatile and gifted Alexandre Lira on percussion. Both were students of mine, But I think this is a great example of the student becoming better (much Better) than the teacher. We will be blogging more on this as the days and weeks up to the release take place.

Cheers - Danny
